Pyro

This is the first time we have ever had the breed Schipperke.

Pyro is a male, about 9 yo, the heaviest at 33.1 lbs

The NYC shelter reached out to us and asked if we could help out in a hoarding situation in Staten Island. Without even knowing anything other than the amount of dogs, of course Karen LeCain agreed to help.

They were living in filth inside their home.. We, and they are happy they are out of that ugly situation. We don’t even want to post the pics because it would upset too many. We were upset, and sadly, we are kind of used to dogs being in bad conditions. They had some of the longest nails we have seen. They smelled so horrible. I think they were as happy as we were to have their mats taken out of their fur and to be finally clean.. They all need dentals, which we will take care of..

They are between 20-30 lbs, and like many of us, they all could lose a few lbs. There are 7 of them in total..

Males should be between 13-16 lbs, females should be 12-15 lbs.

Your job as a foster would be to teach them how to be a part of a family. To be a dog living in a nice environment. They are all sweet, no aggression, some a little shy, but they will warm up in no time. They are good with each other, we have no history with cats or young children. We think an older child would be fine.

They all love wet food.

If you are looking to pass on a good deed, this is it. Were you looking for a way to truly help, and to make a difference for 2020?. YOU as a foster are the transition to get them ready for their furever home.. You will be in awe what some good food and love can do. It’s very cool to see their true personalities start to emerge.
