Poor Dixie was just another skinny pregnant Momma from the south. She was wandering around and gave birth under a shed. 🙁 To rescue her and the pups, our volunteer, Jim Davila​ literally had to use a saw to get the floor boards off to get to the Mom and pups.. Thankfully they were able to be rescued. Momma and 7 pups were taken to the vet to get all checked out, and given the clearance to be transported to us in NY.

They all are happy and healthy pups who’s days are only going to get better.   It’s hard to tell in the pic, but Dixie is a beautiful choolate lab mix.
