Stella

Stella is less than a year old and is being fostered by an amazing family.

As a bonus, anyone who adopts her will get a free photo shoot with Victoria from Kokopelli Photography – Hudson Valley Photographer. How wonderful and generous is that for Victoria to offer to do that…

This is what her foster Momma says about Stella….

Our family grows more and more attached to sweet Stella every day. She’s made her home here, and loves to greet all our visitors with kisses and rests her head on any lap that will let her. It won’t be easy to see her go to a new furever home but if I don’t I can’t help another dog get ready to find their new home. I know There’s a lucky family waiting to meet Stella and love her like we do.

Stella is still a pup at heart who is house trained. She will do best with a family who is around during the day because she doesn’t like to be alone for very long. She will follow you from room to room and wait for your cue to Settle in for a nap. She loves long walks, watching the birds and squirrels and meeting her neighborhood friends. She likes a friendly wrestle with her foster sister. She may not “smile” for pictures like other dogs but she shows her joy in her tail wags which involves wiggling her whole lil tush and how she kisses your entire face if she hasn’t seen you for a few hours.

She has amazing athletic skills so gates are no challenge for her but she is learning to respect them. Although she likes other dogs,
She has to be introduced appropriately. She is crate trained but would love to be able to share your bed. She’s good with kids but leash walking needs an adult as she is still learning not to pull when she sees something interesting. She gladly puts on her sweater when it’s cold so playing dress up would be okay with her!

Stella is an awesome dog and deserves a family who will love her to death cause she will love you back.

She will be at the Petco in Poughkeepsie on Saturday from 11-3:30, come by and meet her. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an application, which can be found on our website www.careofdc.org
